(free S/H $18/btl) This 100% Garnacha (Grenache) comes from the Campo de Borja region of Spain, which is located in the Northwest of the country near Zaragoza. Made from some of the oldest vines on the property – 53 year old vines – this crafty red was produced during the wonderful 2010 vintage. The winemaker believed the juice was so concentrated and bursting with fruit that she did not want to lessen its temperament with any oak aging. The result is a wine of beautifully rich aromas of berries and fresh spices. The palate soft and silken in texture with a voluptuous mouth feel and a long and satisfying finish. The wine is ready for drinking now, but can be laid down for 3-4 more years.
Try pairing this barbecued or roasted beef, slow braised lamb and suckling pig.
