$175 (free S/H) ARMANGNAC-Bas Armagnac is the best of the region. Most Armagnac is blended, although a very small amount of vintage-dated brandy can be found. The old vintages (such as this 1987) have been aged in barriques from the famous "black oak of Monlezun", which has become scarce. This is a wonderful brandy with mouth-filling flavors of fruity, toasted complexity and rich caramel / vanilla notes.
COGNAC-Our Landreau XO COGNAC is created from a blend of older barrels, with a minimum of 7 years of age. Although the producers have tried substitutes, the only wood that yields the classical Cognac flavors is expensive oak from Limousin. This cognac is warm, soft and rich with aromatic oak tones. Absolutely excellent.
