(FREE S/H* 31/btl)Using an unusual blend of 40% Nebbiolo, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 10% Barbera and 5% Freisa , the 'Pacifico' exhibits a crimson red color with deep purple highlights. Notes of stone fruit, violet, vanilla, almonds and smoke intoxicate the senses as this full-bodied and vibrant wine fills the mouth. This wine comes from another great Piemonte region; Asti. Documents show that high quality wines have been made here since the Roman Era, and the underground cellars that were used then are still being used today! Most of the grapes for the L'Armangia wine come from the 'Pacifico' vineyard, which means "Peace-loving" in Italian. Today the Giovine family is the proud purveyor of the Pacifico vineyard and they have been growing wines in Asti since 1850. Although a 2001, this wine has a lot of life left and will still be drinking well until 2009. Vintage is 2004
