$40(free s/h) Up to 13 different grapes can be added to the final blend of wines from the most famous of the Rhone Regions. This allowance has caused wine lovers to jokingly refer to Chateauneuf-du-Pape wines as a "cocktail." That is where the jokes end, as wines from this southwestern French appellations are some of the most serious in the world. Due to soils that are filled with large stones, the grapes growing in these vineyards are never given rest as they are beaten with sunshine during the day and then kept heated by the stones in the soil that baked in the sun all day. The results are monolithic wines with tons of fruit and extract. Made mostly of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre and Cinsault, the "Les Millets" exhibits a deep, intense red color with a powerful and complex nose of kirsch, liqourice and leather. "Les Millets" has the potential to age for 10 years if stored properly, but we don't think you'd be able to wait that long! Buy a case now!
