$33(no S/H) When a master like Rudolf Geil is blessed with a great vintage like 2005, he is able to create special wines that aren't a possibility every year. His 2005 Bermersheimer Seilgarten Huxelrebe Auslese is one such wine.
Not wanting to overly influence the grapes in the terrific vintage, Geil merely guided these grapes to harvest and was so impressed with their quality he let 10% of the planned cropped be exposed to botrytis, the famed 'Noble Rot' which makes delicious late harvest wines. His trust in the grapes' health paid off with an Auslese that weighed in with an astounding 90 degrees Oechsle!
Geil only made 100 cases of this extremely ripe and gorgeous wine and we secured all of it. Make sure you secure a few cases for yourself as only Mother Nature knows when a wine like this will be able to be made again – especially at this price!
