$32(free s/h) We have had so many great wines from South Africa (and turned away a few great ones too) that we could possibly become a wine company based soley on wines from this exciting county. Don't worry - we won't! However, after enjoying this fine wine, it is hard to take your attention away from the Cape of Good Hope! Merlot, while flying under the radar in South Africa, may be the country's best suited varietal for its terroir. The Joubert Brothers Cuvee Mosaic is just that, a Mosaic. A big rich, powerful wine with strong aromas of blackberry, tar, vanilla and damp earth. The palate is finely structured with supple fruit, solid tannin and real weight. One might even mistake this for a top end Pomerol!
