(Free S/H $46/btl)Aging in small French barriques for a full year and then another 2 years in Slovenian oak has made this Barolo quite unique. A powerful and glass-filling nose of rose petals, violets and a hint of spice seduce the senses. Inviting tannins and an expansive palate end in a licorice finish. The wine is drinking beautifully now, but Giuseppe believes that the wine will hit its apex in 2010. He personally suggests pairing this Nebbiolo alongside roasts and braised meats or dishes that feature hearty cuts of game meats and hard, mature cheeses.
