$24(no S/H) This 2004 Northpoint Viognier is crafted in a refreshing style with a focus on the delicately exotic fruit that has made this varietal one of the most popular white wines in the US today. The small French appellation Condrieu and the prestigious Chateau Grillet, are the original home to the Viognier, which was scarce for much of its existence, thus expensive. Think white peaches, nectarines, orange blossoms and honeycomb! Grapes for the 2004 vintage came predominately from vineyards in the Mendocino Valley, a northern region of the California wine country. The wine is not barrel fermented, but temperature controlled rather, in stainless steel tanks to tightly control the fermentation process and post-fermentation storage. This maintains the fresh, crisp, full flavor of the wine on your palate.
