$25(no S/H)The Dornfelder varietal is a hybrid created in 1976 from two other hybrids (genetically descended from Fruhburgunder, Trollinger, Portugeiser and Lemberger). Today almost 1000 acres are planted to this variety which produces deeply colored fruity red wine and has become the most popular red varietal in Germany. We are introducing a new vintage of this estate-bottling from the Gehrig Weinkellerie in the Palatinate. Herr Gehrig is known as a very high-quality producer in the area for both white and red wines.
