$75(NO S/H) THIS IS A GREAT GIFT FOR A COLLECTOR! This wine is what Rudolf Geil likes to call 'playing with fire.' Using the very time consuming and expensive Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) to make an Eiswein is not an easy task. Already very fickle, these Spätburgunder grapes were left 'hanging' as the rest of the harvest was conducted from late September until early November. Then with conditions that can only come about by chance, Rudolf and his team rushed into the vineyards at 5 am on December 21st to pick these frozen grapes at an unbelievable 165 degrees Oechsle! It was obvious that someone upstairs was presenting Rudolf with an early Christmas present that took the form of a copper color in the glass, offering aromas of honey-dipped raspberries and a luscious consistency. When asked to describe his feelings about this treasure, Rudolf could only say 'I am blessed to be a winemaker.' As always with a treat like this, we were only able to secure a tiny amount of this wine. Please hurry before it is all gone. Buy a case now!
