Herr Lang has garnered awards and accolades from both the government as well as the press in his home country year after year and when he showcases wines anywhere else around the world he always scores at the top of the class. Hans is able to produce some of the best Rheingau wines when vintages are difficult, but when all of the elements of winemaker come together during a particular year, he can craft liquid gold. 2001 is considered by many to be one of the best, if not THE best German vintage ever. This Riesling Auslese still has most of its youthful exuberance on display - great mineral and profound fruit flavors and aromas along with crisp acidity make this a "must buy."
