(free S/H 22/btl) A powerful Merlot, the Jean Berteau sports a black color with red cherry at the rim.
The Languedoc region in southwest France has long been a place where French winemakers could express themselves more so than in some other more rigid wine regions. Interesting blends and more progressive styles have been the calling card of wineries from this region, and this Merlot from Compagnie-Rhodanienne is a prime example. Bottled under the new broader Vin de France designation, the winemaker had free reins to select the best parcels of Merlot he could find in Southwest of France.
