(free S/H $22/btl)The Cellars du Belay Touraine is produced by Joseph Verdier, an operation created and managed by the same
family for over 3 generations. Nationally recognized as a fine producer of wines, they specialize in wines from the
Loire, which are sought after worldwide. The 2008 Cellars du Belay Touraine Sauvignon Blanc comes from
vineyards located right on the Loire at the east end of Tours. It is widely recognized that the Loire is the ancestral
home of Sauvignon Blanc, and its best characteristics are brought out in these vineyards more so than any other
location in the world. A wine that is meant to be drunk in its youth, this Sauvignon Blanc is crisp and clean, with
aromas and flavors of honeysuckle, slate and tropical fruits like cantaloupe and quince. While not as well known as its
Loire cousin Sancerre, this Touraine will hold up against any wine from its neighboring appellation at a fraction of
the price, offering great bang for your buck. Pair this wine with white fish, oysters or pate.
