(FREE S/H 55/btl)The 2008 bottling is an impressive offering. Its color is a quite full, fine gold. In the nose, It is delicate and intense with notes of honey, hawthorn, candied orange. On the palate, with nice liveliness, it is fleshy with a body well-balanced on discreet new oak. Few whites are as celebrated around the world as Puligny-Montrachet. Wines from this region of Burgundy are a great representation of what this historic wine growing area can do with the most noblest of varietals – Chardonnay. Lupe-Cholet matures their Puligny-Montrachet in oak casks for 10-16 months without any racking. The lees are then gently stirred so malolactic fermentation can be achieved before the wine is lightly fined so the harmony and flavors of this bottling are not disturbed.
