(free S/H* 28/btl) This Merlot is almost Pomerol like, with a very dark complexion and aromas blueberry, blackberry, caramel and vanilla. 10 months of French oak ageing has rounded out this wine to an unctuous, powerful, mouth-filling Merlot that never seems to end on the palate. Soft, warm and layered, this wine should be paired with roasted lamb or prime rib. This wine can be drunk now or cellared for 5-7 years. We would recommend decanting as this wine is not filtered and needs to breathe for a half hour to 1 hour before devouring!
Tasting hundreds upon thousands of wines can get tedious at times. You taste a lot of bad, some good and few great. When you find that ‘great,’ it hits you like a thunderbolt and you have to do anything to get that wine! The Andes Collection Merlot Reserve is one of those wines.
