(free S/H* 30/btl) The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon was picked from a bush vine block and a trellised vine block, which
winemaker Duan Brits believes gives the wine great structure, complexity and depth. Brits then pumps the grapes
numerous times during vinification to achieve the greatest possible extraction before barreling the juice for malolactic
fermentation, which is done in 95% French and 5% American Oak. Duan Brits believes this wine's life is 10-
15 years from vintage, so the wine will drink perfectly for at least another 6 years! The result is a very muscular
wine with classic cassis and mulberry flavors. Intense tannin and a memorable finish will make this a great partner
for meals of game meats like venison, ostrich or any grilled red meats. Brother and sister team Haidee and Bill
took over the Marklew winery in 2001 and have had nothing but great success and fanfare. The 2005 Marklew
received 4 out of 5 Stars from John Platter, South Africa's leading wine critic. Bottle shown may not be same vintage as 2005 being sold here
