The Monastrell grape is more commonly known throughout the world as Mourvedre, which is an important grape in
Rhone blends. Its juice tends to be bold and dark with a propensity towards higher tannin and alcohol.
Bodegas La Purisima has decided to bottle this wine on its own, producing a heavy, powerful red of great intensity.
Aromas of black cherry and leather are abundant from the first quaff while a highly structured and fruit forward
palate tingled the tongue. The wines balance between fruit and acidity provide for a long and impressionable finish
that will pair well with a variety of game meats, grilled steaks and the traditional Spanish dish Paella.
