$31(free s/h) Merryvale wines represent the forward-thinking spirit of American winemaking ingenuity. These craftsmen apply both tradition and technology to perfect the output of their efforts. 2005 was one of the most bountiful vintages in recent history. An Indian Summer allowed longer hang time for all grapes helping achieve maximum ripeness. This Starmont selection (a blend of 87% Sauvignon Blanc and 13% Semillon) has the typical ripe melon, grassy nose and refreshing acidity of Sauvignon Blanc plus Semillon's fat richness to round out the edges. 100% of this juice was fermented in French oak making it a "Fume Blanc" style wine that is typically found in the French Loire region.
