(57/tl) Condrieuis one of the tiny nooks of this world that makes wine exploration so much fun. Located in the northern
Rhone, Condrieuis an appellation covering only 270 acres, producing an average of only 500,000 bottles a year.
Only the single varietal Viognieris allowed to grow here, which in the best vintages produces some of the most
delicate, elegant and sought-after wines in the world.
Domaine Christophe Pichonhas less than 10 acres under vine in Condrieuand is entirely hand-harvested.
Pichontakes great care in producing this wine and splits the fermentation between 75% percent in stainless steel
tanks and 25% in new oak barrique. The result is a breathtaking wine with heavenly aromas of apricot, pear,
almonds and violet petals. Condrieuis privileged to have a warmer climate, which offers these whites a heavier
body and high alcohol content. But with expert oak aging, the wine is rounded providing a full, rich finish. Grilled
fish like salmon and sea bass are a preferred match, but the wine can also be enjoyed with a variety of cheeses
such as Pont l'Evequeand Beaufort.
We were only able to grab 25 cases of this profound wine so don't let this opportunity pass you buy! Bottle shown may not be exact vintage we are selling.
