$25(free s/h) Spencer Roloson created this wine in the style of the rich, young wines of France's Southern Rhone and Provence regions. Blended from Syrah (32%), Carignane (35%) and Valdiguie (33%), which is also known as California Gamay, features ripe and delicious fruit with gnarly old-vine characteristics from the 65 year old Carignane vines and 50 year old Valdiguie vines. The addition of Syrah adds texture and weight to Palaterra, tying all of the sumptuous elements together with abundant fruit and smooth tannin.
