$22(free s/h) The grapes for this wine, which are 100% Syrah, come from the ancient town of Agrigento, located on the southwestern coast of the Sicilia island. Formally settled in 1638, the town still draws thousands of tourists each year to its Swabian Castle (a Medieval German clan) and the beautiful Palazzo Pignatelli. Made from precious, low-yielding Syrah vines, the Renideo was blessed with intensely concentrated aromas of blackberry, raspberry and black currant. Full-bodied with silky tannins and a hint of Asian spices on the finish, the Renideo Syrah should be opened for one hour before serving at room temperature alongside hearty pasta dishes with red sauce, roasted eggplant and grilled lamb chops.
