(free S/H $27/btl)Warmer climate than the lower-lying growing areas in Russian River. Chalk Hill is named for its unique, volcanically-derived, chalky white ash soils. These mildly fertile soils lend themselves to the production of excellent whites, particularly Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
Whitepoint is classic example of how well the varietal Chardonnay can perform in California and especially in Russian River. It is rich and full-flavored displaying notes of Bartlett pear and cinnamon-apple pie with a hint of toast from 10 month ageing in French oak. The wine will lend itself to seafood dishes like scallops as well pasta and poultry dishes
